Overijsese Chirogroepen stelen de show in Druivenstoet 2025. Jezus-Eik wint.

DRUIVENFEESTEN OVERIJSE - Bij erg aangenaam feestenweer, een groot publieksbereik en een hoop discobollen en ander geglitter ging vandaag Druivenstoet editie 2025 uit. Rond de klok van 19 uur werd bekend dat Chiro Jezus-Eik de 'Beste praalwagen' had en daardoor 500 euro extra in de kassa kreeg.
Voor de beste thema-uitwerking ontving Chiro Maleizen 400 euro, voor de beste ambiance lag er 450 euro voor Chiro Overijse klaar. Je leest het goed, het werd andermaal een Chirofestival dat glitterde. 'Druivenfeesten Overijse glittert' was het 'opgelegde' thema en dat klonk zowel schitterend en fraai maar blijft ook in zekere mate abstract als je dat wil visualiseren. Zowat elke deelnemer kwam niet verder dan de overbekende discobol of de wit of gouden glinsterende (glitterende ?) linten. Toch bood de vrij korte, want nauwelijks 45 minuten durende cavalcade, genoeg kijkgenot voor de talrijk opgedaagde toeschouwers. Of kwamen die met hun kinderen eerder voor de reclamestoet inclusief snoepregen die meteen na de themastoet volgt? Naast snoep kan je er tegenwoordig ook allerlei gadgets opvangen zoals drinkbussen, balpennen maar ook ijsjes en frisdranken in blik.
IJsberg
We zagen veel Tomorrowland naast mainstages want ook Chiro blijft niet in volksdans en sprookjes hangen en gaan mee met hun tijd. Zo zaten levensechte dj-sets in de wagen van winnaar Jezus-Eik verborgen in wat op een ijsberg leek (zie bovenste foto). De tussendoor-animatie was eerder flauw en hadden we vorige jaren beter van kunnen smullen. In tegenstelling tot Hoeilaart stappen hier geen scholen mee. Omdat het nog volop zomervakantie is? En op Chirokampen kan je tijd maken om wat danspassen in te oefenen. Zo lang een jury (wie zijn die mensen, trouwens) nog kan kiezen tussen een handvol deelnemers kan zo'n feestenstoet wellicht overeind houden alsook de daarbij noodzakelijke publiciteitskolonne. Koken blijft nu eenmaal geld kosten. Intussen kan zo'n jaarlijkse stoet zich misschien eens heruitvinden. Al bij al blijft het evenement ook een beetje rots in het algehele aanbod omwille van enige ongedwongenheid.
